2026-27 Piton Community School
School is back in!
The Piton Community School is back in session, and this year we've added the 7th grade class!
In villages like ours, when students finish the 6th grade and their families have the means, often the student will continue their education in another town where a family member lives. Our students rarely have the means or opportunity, so the older students in Piton and the neighboring village of Piton West have asked for and been granted the opportunity to continue learning in the safe environment of Piton.
Piton and the Community School have continued to grow due to the influx of families from gang-infested Port-au-Prince and surrounding areas. Families, and sometimes lone children, arrive to Piton in need of a more peaceful and secure life.
