Community School
Education is the backbone of social and economic development.
The Piton Community School (PCS) is more than a school: it's the heartbeat of village life, hosting community gatherings, celebrations, holiday events, training sessions, and the occasional soccer tournament. PCS currently teaches approximately 130 students from pre-K through 6th grade.
Enrollment has grown significantly in recent years, driven largely by families fleeing gang violence in Port-au-Prince and resettling in Piton. A seventh grade class will launch in Fall 2026 to meet growing demand.
Piton Partnership programs that directly support the school's students:
School Lunch Program. This program provides a hot meal and children's multivitamin daily. For at least 90% of our students, this will be the only hot meal they receive all day.
Student Sponsorship program. For only $240/year or $20/month, this program supplies each sponsored student with a:
uniform,
shoes,
a book bag,
books, and
personal school supplies.
